Welcome to our new website

Statement of Purpose

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

The most important addition to the web site you will find on the General Assembly page. You will now be able to click on a legislator and immediately go to the form for typing in your best comments on what you think should be done. Another click, and the email will be on its way. I hope we use it a lot. We have tried this on various browsers and combinations, and found one where the click does not work. Bad news, and I am still trying to find the answer. If this happens to you, please email me at postmaster@the litchfieldpage.com. In the middle of the page is a list of bills in which we are most interested. A click in the Bill# column will get you the information our wonderful lobbyists, Martha Phillips and Christine Horrigan, have gleaned from the all the legislative chaff. We are getting ready for the new session and hope you will make it the best session for LWV participation.

I hope you will tell me what you see wrong, want improved, what new features you want - anything. This is your site, and it should serve you.

The worst thing about this site is the navigation system. It works very well from the main page, but when you get to a new page, you will have to use the "BACK" button or arrow to return to the menu. This condition wont last very long, so I hope you can put up with it for a little while.
Here is a picture of the Back button on top left of your screen.

In the mean time, click on this backbutton to return to the main menu.
